🛣️Road CaptainsCapitanes de ruta: equipo y funciones+

Road captains lead and protect the group on every club ride. Below are the team and their core duties.

Los capitanes de ruta dirigen y protegen al grupo en cada rodada. Aquí están el equipo y sus funciones principales.

Lead Road Captain

  • Pre-plans and pre-rides the route, checking road conditions, hazards, fuel stops, restrooms, and food at the destination.
  • Gives a welcome briefing before the ride (route, stops, hand-signal reminders, emergency procedure).
  • During the ride, manages pace, formation, lane changes, and when to pull over.

Sweep

  • Counts bikes and riders and checks for obvious mechanical issues before starting.
  • Rides at the back with high beams on, protects the lane for the group, and assists any rider who needs help.
  • Helps reorganize the group after stops and keeps the lead captain informed.

Safety first

  • All road captains are responsible for safety on every ride, addressing concerns courteously and always in private.
  • Any road captain may remove an unsafe rider from a ride if needed.

Want to join the team? We always need more road captains. Talk to any current road captain at a club meeting or on a Wednesday open ride. It's a good way to try leading or sweeping.

¿Quieres unirte al equipo? Siempre necesitamos más capitanes de ruta. Habla con cualquier capitán de ruta en una reunión del club o en una rodada abierta de los miércoles. Es una buena forma de probar a dirigir o cerrar el grupo.
